Due to our continued growth, we currently have a full time position for a Production Planner at our Heidelberg West Manufacturing facility. This is a pivotal role within our business and will see you take ownership of the planning and scheduling activities in relation to the production of our range of products focusing on safety, quality, cost and on-time delivery. The hours for this position are 7.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday.
This is a new role within the business so we would be looking for someone with a keen interest in creating new processes and who are comfortable working with ambiguity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate a Master Production Schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation, for both labour and equipment, ensuring workflow efficiency;
- Co-ordinating all planning and scheduling activities to meet production plan;
- Process analysis and improvement – support the implementation and maintenance of LEAN principles;
- Manage maintenance /breakdown;
- Create a capacity planning model;
- Facilitate forecasting meetings & production status meetings;
- Managing appropriate stock levels needed to cover demand to ensure timely and efficient continuity of supply;
- Generating planning reports, identifying and managing potential shortfalls;
- Attending weekly sales and production co-ordinating meetings and to provide briefing reports on upcoming production requirements and to maintain effective communications between Production, Quality, Sales and Stores;
Skills Required:
- Qualification in Supply Chain/Procurement/Production & Inventory Management or similar advantageous;
- Significant amount of hands on production planning or scheduling experience, preferably within the FMCG sector in a batch productions environment;
- Experience with ERP MRP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- MYOB EXO experience an advantage
- Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma highly regarded
- Have a Positive attitude in challenging environments
- Ability to achieve goals and be self-motivated
- Excellent Communication skills
