Pace are pleased to be in partnership with this leading global organisation who boast impressive growth year on year. Specialising in the defence sector Continuing to develop their significant presence in Australia this business is seeking to appoint the best in the field, to further enhance the expertise in their high performing team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager this position is responsible for the execution and organisation of the purchasing and procurement of materials specialising in the defence sector. The focus of this opportunity is to communicate, plan, prioritise, analyse information to determine the feasibiity of purchasing products and establish price objectives.
The key responsibilities of this role will include however are not limited to:
- Liaise with suppliers while displaying the capability to deliver the requirements for business units;
- Check purchase requisitions for approvals and authority limits;
- Manage documentation, records and data through ERP System;
- Compile information regarding price trends and commodity influences;
- Determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and the ability to meet required schedules;
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships;
- Raising national and international purchase orders in accordance to company policies and procedures;
- Manage and maintain company and customer electronic management systems
- Negotiate pricing, and review proposals, terms and conditions with both international and local suppliers;
- Proactively contact suppliers and transportation companies to ensure materials are shipped and delivered on contracted dates.
The successful candidate will have the ability to develop and maintain complex purchasing processes within a fast-paced environment, focusing on maximising profitability. You will display a drive to succeed and exceptional attention to detail with outstanding organisation and communication skills. A background working within the defence sector, aviation or capital industries is required and proven success in purchasing capital asset environment is essential
