About the role
You will be responsible to:

Uphold Company's workplace, health and safety policies and procedures.

Manage Fabrication Workshop operations including the implementation, monitoring and maintenance of optimum industry level standards within all aspects of manufacturing.
- Maintain a high quality of workmanship that meets the required project quality standards.
- Report works activities including FCC advice and schedule forecasts in order to both report and track/forecast project positions.
- Supervise materials and consumables control to ensure quality is maintained and costs and wastage are minimised.
- Lead, coach and develop team members by setting clear expectations, having regular communication, and treating one another with respect and fairness to develop and maintain a positive, safe working environment.
- Monitor staff performance and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Interview and recruit tradespeople for positions according to workshop labour demands.
- Check and approve invoices prior to payment for materials and consumables ordered.
- Conduct inductions for new employees.
- Conduct workshop pre-start meetings and monthly toolbox talks.
- Assist in the Estimating process for fabrication either from first principles or by review including Lessons Learned reviews.
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate must have:

Trade qualifications in the metal fabrication industry.

Welding Supervisor qualification conforming to requirements of AS/NZS 1554.1 - COMPULSORY.

Possess a minimum of ten years relevant industry experience.

Demonstrated understanding of the Australian Standard Codes and Standards as applicable to the Metal Manufacturing Industry.

Demonstrated professionalism in all business activities and excellent customer-focused communication skills when dealing with company clients.

Excellent communication skills with management team colleagues and supervised staff and ability to present positive role modelling at all times within the workplace environment.

Proven competence in the manual skills required to demonstrate to the workforce the best methods for completing various work tasks.

Current Drivers' Licence.

Forklift ticket - preferred.

Advanced written and oral communication skills.

Advanced computer literacy - Microsoft Office.

Estimating skills sufficient to support the Estimating team in developing achievable project labour budgets .
