Overseeing maintenance for our fleet, your goal will be to make sure fleet availability targets are met and within budget. You'll use your technical knowledge to plan effectively, working with the in house team of Mechanics for small repairs and servicing and managing external suppliers for any larger piece of work. You'll work with a wide range of stakeholders to manage the challenge of what is in for service and repair vs what's on the road. There is a lot of opportunity for process improvement and therefore your ability to make a difference will see you stand out, both to our internal team and to our customers.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the maintenance of our VIC/NSW/QLD fleet in accordance with road mechanical compliance to safely achieve fleet availability targets
- Negotiate warranties to achieve successful outcomes for the business unit
- Manage the fleet mechanics and external suppliers to ensure the quality of maintenance is high, performed to plan and does not impact the delivery schedule
- Provide assistance in the accident management and repair processes to ensure a prompt return to work for damaged assets
- Manage the maintenance budget, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement through cost management and productivity gains
- Manage monthly reporting, both budgetary and compliance
- Manage registration inspections/bookings/payments and records
Requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to safety
- Minimum of 3 years experience within a similar role
- Heavy mechanical qualifications essential
- Extensive Truck/Semi Trailer knowledge
- Ability to prioritise workload whilst working under pressure in a fast pace environment
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing maintenance budgets
- Strong Microsoft Office knowledge
- Excellent communicator with the ability to influence at all levels internal and external
- Sound knowledge and experience in cost management
