Chandler Macleod is now seeking fit and energetic dockhands to join an industry leading Freight Transport provider in Hallam. These roles involve pallet breakdown, labelling and sorting of parcel freight and cartons. A strong knowledge of Victorian suburbs and locations is highly advantageous. Please note that this work is physically demanding and fast paced!
Forklift driving opportunities are also available for licenced operators who pass the TNT forklift assessment but everyone must be willing and able to perform dockhand duties whenever required. All candidates start work on site as a dockhand. Preferred forklift experience in from working in a busy transport yard with general freight, as the environment is constantly moving and the freight is not all square pallets! You need to be quickly able to assess the load that you are picking up and how it should be loaded onto the trucks.
These are casual positions, which will see you working either morning or afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday with a maximum of 4 hours daily. This role would be ideal for anyone looking for minimum of 4 hours work a week, and would be an excellent consideration for a second income. Students are welcome to apply.
The pay rate for the role is $31 per hour.
To be successful you must have:
• Own transport and driver licence
• Afternoon shift - 3:30pm to 7:30pm
• Willing to undergo Australian Federal Police Check
• Willing to submit and pass a Full Medical examination including Drug & Alcohol assessment
• A good work ethic and reliability
• A high level of physical fitness and the ability perform repetitive lifting of up to 25kg
• Ability to perform continuous repetitive manual lifting and handling. This is a very fast paced moving environment.
• Able to work on a weekly roster - be available on short notice for on-call shifts.
Forklift drivers will also need to have a current forklift licence and a minimum of 2 years’ recent experience on a forklift.
