Mett Pty Ltd, a Global Automotive Components Supplier, specialising in High Pressure Die Casting is seeking a CMM Programmer.
Job Overview
To support manufacturing by layout verification and certification of parts, assemblies, and check fixtures. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability and essential duties required to successfully perform this job.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Attain annual safety quality and productivity goals - including Quality department assigned goals
- Perform layout inspection of parts, assemblies, and inspection fixtures and gages using the Coordinate Measuring Machine and appropriate measuring devices.
- Maintain a priority schedule log for all request submitted layouts.
- Maintain a layout schedule for annual checking fixtures certifications.
- Perform Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GRR) Studies on checking fixtures as required.
- Provide layout support for new and existing program development and validation.
- Adhere to customer layout standards, methodologies and requirements.
- Provide layout inspection reports as required.
- Participate in meetings with other departments to review data and develop continuous improvement plans
- Participate in Continual Improvement activities
- Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
- Maintain the Quality Assurance Department & CMM computer hardware and software
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Prior blue print reading and GD & T.
- Prior layout experience using CMM and related software.
- Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of measurement system analysis
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, math data, reports, instructions and guidelines
- Proficient in using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
- Proficient in using measuring instruments, i.e. caliper, micrometer, height gages, etc.
- Able to operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine
- Proficient in programming layouts using CMM software, preferably MeasureMax
- Proficient in personal computer operation and applications in a MS Windows operating system.
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, Team Members, suppliers and customer
- Must be able to understand written instructions
