A fantastic opportunity has arisen within ACE Materials Handling for an experienced Service Manager to fill a full-time position at our head office based in Darra.

ACE Materials Handling Pty Ltd is an Australian owned engineering and materials handling company that has been operating since 1991 with branches in Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Brisbane, Darwin and Townsville. We provide services to clients in all industries through servicing and maintenance of assets including cranes, machinery and supply of materials handling equipment.

This role will see you working as a key part of our service management team and have you involved in varied aspects of the companies business. The successful candidate will have the ability to thrive in a highly challenging and ever-changing environment so a self-motivated, flexible, results driven individual will succeed greatly in this role.

In addition to these attributes, the successful candidate will be able to perform the following duties as key responsibilities of the role;

  • Plan, coordinate and direct service department activities
  • Manage/Coordinate efficient and effective execution of service operations
  • Liaise with production management and supervisors to optimise staff/resource allocation and chargeability
  • Provide excellent customer service in regards to information, technical support, training and maintenance plans development.
  • Provide support to customers and manage unplanned customer service like breakdowns, malfunctions and possible warranty issues, organize corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base and procedures for installation, inspection, service and maintenance of machines and equipment to improve performance, conformance to industry standards and client satisfaction.
  • Organise training to improve staff performance as required.
  • Assist in maintaining good staff culture/attitude through every day contacts, toolbox meetings, training and performance review feedback.
  • Perform WHS responsibilities/tasks as per ACE handbook for example, organising / conducting toolbox meetings, site/job safety audits.
  • Communicate professionally with internal staff & stakeholders as well as externally with clients via phone and email
  • Problem diagnosis and solving skills
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Requirements
