This specific position has arisen to manage the Commercial growth within the National Logistics/Forwarding area of the business.
This newly created position focuses on building relationships with market, managing all aspects of the commercial arrangements with a keen grasp on improving market share and specialising in the changing space of national import and export.
An integral part of this position is to use your existing knowledge and expertise in the Logistics/Transport areas to actively develop, market and lead commercial strategy to increase already established client base.

On top of being a leadership figure within the company, key duties of this role will include:

• Develop and market commercial value propositions for shipping lines, exporters, importers and transport companies by leveraging terminal and logistics/intermodal partners
• Lead commercial end user strategy, marketing terminal as preferred gateway, leading to increased container volumes
• Map key end users and shipper supply chains in Melbourne/Hinterland
• Understand shipper requirements and translate these into effective win-win solutions to meet volume targets
• Develop relationships with major shippers, rail operators and intermodal terminal customers
• Contract management for liner and intermodal third party service providers
• Regularly review competitive scenario in local market and be hands on dealing with opportunities and threats, seeking to capitalize on such instances
• Maintain market research to identify and develop new end user market opportunities, seeking ways to create additional value for customers
• Support Commercial in preparing liner analysis, price modelling, value propositions

Our ideal candidate will be okay with regular travel both interstate and internationally, other Key Requirements include:

• Tertiary qualification in Business and/or Commercial related field
• Possess 5 + years’ worth of relatable experience in intermodal logistics, freight forwarding and international supply chain
• Experience working with data, market trends with specific exposure to the Transport/Logistics Industries
• Advanced with Microsoft Office suite, Excel, and database management
• Strong organisational skills with analytical and advanced problem solving capabilities
• Strong stakeholder management with influencing skills with comprehensive inside knowledge of industry workings
