Our client located in Penrith are a national leader in pre-cast manufacturing. Specialising in custom designed products for the construction industry, they are now seeking an experienced and hands on Area Supervisor to join their team.
Due to exceptional growth and a restructure this is a newly created position.
The production area has now been divided into three divisions, and the purpose of this position is to lead and manage one of the sections which is made up of a small team.
This is a hands on role where you will supervise your team, while rolling up your own sleeves to perform alongside your crew.
A competitive salary of $65K - $75k plus superannuation is on offer
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 6am to 4pm with flexibility during peak time.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- To direct your team to achieve daily KPI's with a high standard of safety and quality
- Identify opportunities for process, quality and safety improvement
- Produce timely and accurate data reports for the site manager
- Plan and prepare production schedules
- Maintain WH&S in the factory and ensure staff, facility and equipment are compliant
- Perform hands on work
- Liaise with other supervisors and management to forecast production requirements
- Mentor and develop team members
- Troubleshoot and problem solve
To be successful you will need to:
- Have previous experience as a supervisor or leading hand within a manufacturing environment
- Have knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes
- Have strong leadership skills to motivate your team
- Have strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with people across all levels of the business
- Understand safety, compliance and the chain of responsibility
- Forklift licence (desirable)
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport
- 2 x checkable work references
