The role is responsible for allocating and managing transport jobs to internal drivers and external carriers, dealing with customer enquiries, and coordinating deliveries to maximise efficiency and effective utilisation of resources, whilst maintaining a high focus on safety and compliance of the fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building effective relationships with drivers, client stakeholders and other team members that promote trust and encourage effective performance;
- Allocate and assign driver runs using NCL internal database to meet customer requirements and KPI’s;
- Communicate with drivers, customers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries and pick-ups;
- Organise transport for interstate on-forwarding including subcontractors and third-party service providers;
- Provide reporting to managers on resource availability and requirements;
- Investigate and report on any safety and compliance incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented to monitor or resolve issues;
- Providing support to the administrative team to ensure all relevant paperwork compliance.
The successful candidate will possess:
- A very sound understanding of the South-East Queensland region;
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing and scheduling a medium to refrigerated fleet and containers;
- Sound computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and the ability to learn new systems quickly;
- Driver fatigue, mass management, load restraint and maintenance management knowledge;
- Able to allocate deliveries / pickups in the most efficient and cost-effective way without compromising on service;
- Ability to deal effectively with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Personal resilience with the ability to sustain a high level of energy and positivity whilst under pressure.
