Nightshift Logistics Supervisor, Wangara WA

We are currently seeking a Nightshift Logistics Supervisor to join our team in Wangara, WA. At our Wangara site, we manufacture customer orders during the day and dispatch products overnight, aiming for high customer satisfaction through quick turnaround times.

What is the Role?
Reporting to the State Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the loading of products on trucks, ensuring customer satisfaction through accurate product loading free from any damage.

This key leadership role will act as the main point of contact for any dispatch issues that arise throughout the shift. You will be responsible for finding quick resolutions and communicating these changes to the transport providers and nightshift loading crew.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Distribute workload and supervise the nightshift loading team;
• Ensure all trucks & trailers are loaded efficiently and within the BlueScope safety and load restraint guidelines;
• Reorganise orders on to different runs when trucks over scheduled and identify issues as they arise;
• Work alongside the transport provider to ensure trucks & trailers are available for loading;
• Ensure housekeeping in the Dispatch area is maintained to a high standard always;
• Provide a shift handover to the State Logistics Manager, Logistics Team and Operations Manager at the end of each shift.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and provide recommendations in how processes can be improved.

With the ability to think quickly on your feet, your analytical skills will assist you in dealing with ambiguity, and making decisions with accountability and no supervision.
 
This position requires a leader who is self motivated and confident, with a conscientious and focused approach to safety and continuous improvement.
 
 To be successful in this role you will also possess:
• Nightshift experience over a long period of time;
• Valid WA forklift and driver’s licence;
• Demonstrated experience managing high workloads and priorities;
• Sufficient experience loading mixed products on trucks;
• Sound Microsoft office skills and administrative capability; and
• Previous experience in a similar industry will be highly regarded
