Sick of your traditional Production Manager role??  The time is now or never to jump ship and make a change.
You've built some solid relationships with your production team but at the same time you are in need of a new challenge with a company that values continuous improvement and innovation and actively encourage their staff to come up with improvements and new ideas. 
  
The current Production Manager has been with the company for over ten years and is now looking to move on and do some travelling etc. They will be on board for the next two to three months ensuring a long handover period where you will get a chance to transition into the role and company at a steady pace.

The company we are working with are a local Agricultural manufacturing Company that employ around 55 people and over the past 2-3 years they have completely rebranded their business and the marketing of their product is second to none. If they are going to do a job they are going to do it properly. 
  
Their products are the strongest and most reliable in Australia and they are the leader for machinery technology and efficiency with all models and options being designed and built in-house.  They sell their products through a strong dealer network as well as to the public direct.
    
The role will be responsible for developing, implementing and sustaining production processes through continuous improvement and effective production planning. The role therefore requires a highly developed ability to plan production activities and to problem solve to ensure quality production outcomes. 

There are currently around 30 production workers within the team. You would be leading and managing a team of four direct reports being a Workshop Foreman, QA Officer, Procurement Officer and a Storeperson.

Some of your main duties will be as below:
  • Mentoring and developing a strong production team 
  • Sustaining production planning and development systems 
  • Managing human and physical resources across production and stock/inventory control 
  • Ensuring production meets company Quality Assurance expectations 
  • Operating as a key member of the senior management team
If you have previous experience within a manufacturing environment, know production like the back of your hand and are extremely confident in picking up the product side of things, then we need to talk.  A strong knowledge of agricultural equipment would be seen as advantageous but not essential.
