Yang Ming (Australia) Pty. Ltd. is the agent for Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation. Yang Ming (Australia) has its Head Office in Melbourne with offices also in Sydney and Brisbane. We are looking to appoint an Operations and Logistics Coordinator on 12 month contract to join the Operation and Container control department based in Sydney. Upon completion of 12 months position can be made permanent based on performance.

Location: Yang Ming (Australia) Pty Ltd  in North Sydney, NSW.

Responsibility: The role supports and carries out all Operations and Logistics functions within the Yang Ming Australia’s Operation and Container control department. This function covers all related activities of the Yang Ming’s container fleet movement within AUS covered region and provide support role in driving improvements and efficiencies in the global equipment utilization area of the Logistics department. Support role in vessel operations including the maintenance of schedule, consolidated booking forecast and other operational activities. The role will involve contacting customers, container depots, terminals and principal. Also, this role will be required to assist import and export documentation department in Sydney office.

 

The successful candidate will handle

  • Cargo and Container damage claim,
  • Vendor Invoice processing
  •  Cost Saving analysis and Implementation
  • Container control
  • Vessel operation

 

To be the successful candidate you will need:

  • 3 years industry in shipping operations and logistics as well experience in Export/Import Documentation.
  • A proactive and 'can do' attitude
  • Strong organisational, a high attention to detail and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • A friendly and professional demeanour with the ability to establish rapport with people at all levels Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office application
