The business is also seeking to develop exciting new technology projects which has the potential to reshape waste management solutions in Australia.

We require the services of an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the Genesis Transfer Station located at our Alexandria operations.  

Reporting to the General Manager you will be required to complete a variety of tasks, all of which are essential to the ongoing success and future development of the business. The experience that you have gained throughout your career will enable you to:

  • Ensure safety and environmental standards are maintained
  • Provide leadership and direction to machinery operators, waste sorters and weighbridge personnel
  • Work closely with other business unit managers to ensure the Transfer Station meets short and long-term production forecasts
  • Establish capital, operational and maintenance budgets along with implementing cost management strategies to achieve targets
  • Develop and implement improvements in business systems, processes and procedures to enhance operational performance

The successful applicant will have:

  • Extensive experience managing an operational facility with high truck/vehicle movements
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong people management skills, including the ability to motivate and lead employees
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills, ensuring that all challenges are identified and resolved within a satisfactory time frame
  • Ability to identify productivity and efficiency opportunities and develop supporting business case to bring about change
  • Experience in establishing goals, targets and standards that will effectively measure team and individual performance
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of and commitment to OH&S particularly in relation to the transport and construction industries
  • Ability to move between strategy and detailed operational level work by establishing operational plans, forecast accurate production outcomes, efficient use of stockpile space, through to implementing a daily plan to maximise people and machinery resources
