Work for an organisation that makes a difference!  This is an exciting opportunity, due to massive growth we have a new position to join the warehouse office for an experienced Assistant Inventory Controller working for a leading organisation that has established itself across all states of Australia with it's significant dealings of major charity work.

The role is to assist existing staff in inventory management overseeing receiving, expiry date control, rework inventory, arranging donated collections, vehicle scheduling and pallet/bin control and to fully cover these roles during times of staff absence.  The role requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to liaise with multiple people inside and external to the organisation. 

Because most products are donated, the supply chain can be viewed as a "surprise chain" with inventory management requiring adaptability depending on what is received.  Due to the varied nature of products received, the ability to understand the complete supply chain of products through to final consumer is important. 

Tasks Include:

  • Pallet and bin control
  • Inventory management including inventory accuracy, stocktakes, bin moves, and adjustments across 5000 SKUs in a 12 month period
  • Inventory monitoring including slow stock analysis, date control and to expedite turnover
  • Checking, counting and receiving inventory into the computer system
  • Controlling rework stock and rework actions needed (such as relabelling)
  • Donor liaison and arranging donation collections and deliveries
  • Other inventory, donation, administrative and customer service, including contacting charities when there is an excess of short dated stock and assisting customer service counter
  • Assist with the transition to full bin tracking and implementation of WMS.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level working knowledge MS Office and Spreadsheets
  • Well-developed analytical skills
  • High degree of personal initiative and ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
