Plasdene Glass-Pak is a major importer and wholesale distributor of glass and plastic packaging materials (bottles, jars, containers and closures) for supply to the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, health care, wine, oil, spirit, industrial, agricultural, pet care, personal care and cosmetic sectors. In addition to our extensive local and imported product in-stock range, we also offer global sourcing and custom packaging including new mould development solutions worthy of top shelf exposure.

We have seven Packaging Plaza Showrooms and Distribution Centres across Australia, with customers as far reaching as NZ, Asia, UK, Europe, US and Canada.

About The Role

Our purchasing team is highly valued and is critical for the continuing growth of our business and supports 7 branches across Australia. 

You will be proactive, accurate and efficient, taking ownership for your key accountabilities including:

  • Liaise with local and international supply partners
  • Create inventory purchase orders from requisitions after reviewing stock levels and deciding on appropriate order quantities
  • Prompt and efficient follow up of purchase orders
  • Place orders on vendors for stock, non-stock and capital items
  • Maintain inventory master files, including kits and BOM's
  • Create stock transfers for wadded and decorated components
  • Maintain records of all product specifications and drawings
  • Maintain kit data and costings
  • Maintain, update and distribute supplier price lists

About You

We  are seeking an experienced candidate together with: 

  • A proven track record in a similar role
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret reports and data
  • Experience with SAP, although not essential, would be advantageous
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility to multi-task and work unsupervised and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Maturity and a sense of urgency
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers
