Detail information about job Warehouse Operations Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Competitive salary, performance based bonuses & career advancement opportunities
  • Supportive leadership team
  • Join an industry leader during an exciting period of growth!

We have partnered with a privately owned and highly successful specialist cake manufacturing / supply business to source for them a dynamic and experienced Warehouse Operations Manager.

It is not often that a company can boast they have been operating for more than 25 years while still remaining a family owned business. The key to their success is that they continue to strive for perfection.

They are well known for being the benchmark for quality, taste and consumer brand recognition in the competitive Victorian hospitality market and they are without a doubt at the top of their field.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to engage someone with demonstrated experience within a manufacturing environment (ideally with exposure to food preparation and with an understanding of HACCAP) to drive performance and productivity within their Warehouse Operations while actively providing support to the Production Manager and Manufacturing team.

Located in the Inner Western Suburbs and very close to the CBD, this position will report directly to the General Manager.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take on a challenging and multi-faceted operational position.

Some of the key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to;

  • Managing the day to day operations of the warehouse while maintaining a hands-on approach when required
  • Leading, empowering and mentoring your team to achieve high performance standards
  • Identifying opportunities to improve productivity and reduce overheads
  • Developing, implementing and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Purchasing ingredients and consumables from a variety of vendors
  • Managing internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Overseeing the maintenance program for all factory plant and equipment
  • Developing and implementing performance based KPI’s
  • Managing the logistics network for the business, negotiating the most cost-effective terms while not compromising on service standards
  • Effectively utilising and where possible, improving the existing warehousing management system
  • Engaging and managing trades and contractors for the manufacturing / warehousing facilities
  • Maximising operational cost savings for the business
  • Actively contributing to businesses HACCP program (from an operations perspective)
  • Driving a non-negotiable OH&S and safety program (our people are our most important asset!)

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and attributes;

  • Demonstrated success in a similar position
  • A passion for safety, systems and customer service.
  • Outstanding people management skills.
  • The ability to relate to and effectively communicate with all employees within the business
  • A track record in delivering, safe, cost effective and quality operational outcomes.
  • Exposure to facilities and asset management
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Attention to detail is a MUST especially when planning and monitoring plant and equipment repairs
  • Ideally you will be a bit of a handy person and be able to help fix really minor problems without the need to bring in external trades
  • Previous experience working within a food manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous but is by no means mandatory
  • Fork lift / High Risk Work licence (again, a nice to have but not mandatory).
  • Experience with HACCP or another quality assurance system.

Sound like the role you’ve been waiting for?

On offer for the successful candidate will be a competitive salary package, performance-based bonus structure, job security, on-going training and development, career advancement opportunities and a highly supportive management team.

To apply, use the link below and include a resume and cover letter outlining why you feel you are the one we should be talking to! Due to the overwhelming response we are expecting, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. We thank-you in advance for your interest.
