About the role
We have three vacant position for Team Leader:
- Team Leader Outbound Bulk Goods
- Team Leader Outbound Light Goods
- Team Leader Inbound
The key responsibility of this role is to provide leadership, supervision and direction to the team ensuring that outstanding orders are reviewed and available goods are picked, packed and dispatched in a timely and accurate manner in line with company policies and procedures.
The role involves maintaining the stock movement, control of paperwork and processing of all transactional computer entries to enact the goods inventory dispatch to the customer including the organising and booking of courier dispatch.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Provide leadership, supervision and direction
- Performance management of team members
- Build and maintain a positive work culture. Contribute to an effective overall Operations Team
- Review and maintain picking/dispatch accuracy and completeness
- Ensure early shift / late shift coverage for team
- Conduct periodic meetings with team to identify issues, agree actions and follow up on progress
- Identify process failures / weaknesses and work with State Operations Manager to propose solutions
- Contribute to overall national warehouse weekly priorities review meetings
- Support other sections in warehouse given priorities and workload
Dispatch / Operations
- Daily review of outstanding orders
- Daily production of pick lists
- Allocation of duties amongst team
- Physical picking of inventory
- Accurate recording of serial/batch/lot numbers
- Supervise consolidation of picked inventory into single shipments
- Printing of picking / dispatch documents
- Supervise dispatch and organising / booking of courier or airfreight
- Supervise coordination of inclusive slings / batteries / chargers with bulky goods sales
- Be the main contact point for sales / operations staff queries in the outbound Light goods area
- Prepare and submit reports to State Operations Manager as required
Inventory Management
- Carry out periodic cycle counting
- Relocation of stock against warehouse plan
- Restocking of pick-face stock from bulk stock
- Maintain neat, clean and tidy warehouse
Safety, Quality and Compliance
- Build Quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality systems/processes
- Ensure site operates according to internal Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001.
- Comply with QA and WH&S policies and procedures.
- Report injuries and accidents promptly.
- Correct WH&S hazards and report those which cannot be immediately corrected.
- Co-operate with management on matters of QA and WH&S management.
- Be actively involved in all QA and WH&S programs and activities.
- Report actual or potential QA or WH&S incidents/issues/near misses.
- Identify and have input into the elimination of QA and WH&S detrimental work practices.
Skills & Experience
- 5 + year’s work experience in a Dispatch or General Warehouse role
- 5 + year’s work experience of operating in and adhering to an environment with detailed written policies and procedures
- Current Fork Lift Licence
- Excellent people skills required with an ability to develop rapport, demonstrate patience and maintain a level head in periods of stressful situations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks without supervision. Able to meet deadlines without prompting or reminder.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with a diversity of people, ranging from staff to customers to suppliers.
