We are a privately-owned, Brisbane based transport and logistics company with a strong reputation. We are looking for an experienced fleet/logistics coordinator to join our team and manage a department of our fleet.

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced transport coordinator to join our Team. You will be responsible for the planning of transport runs and the management of up to 10 trucks to various locations from the Sunshine Coast to Gold Coast and beyond.

On a daily basis, you will coordinate the transport activities of these vehicles and their drivers for the safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods.

Good geographical knowledge and experience within the transport industry and more specifically, fleet allocation and/or product distribution is required. While the logistics coordination is central to the role, customer service, problem/conflict resolution and communication skills are key for the successful applicant.  The ability to foster and maintain relationships with customers and others within the business is essential.

The role is located in Rochedale at our customer's premises. The successful application will be self-motivated, resilient with excellent time-management skills.

Duties

  • Daily dispatching and efficient coordination of transport runs for 8-10 vehicle fleet
  • Monitor and manage drivers to ensure work is carried out in line with procedures and in a professional, safe and efficient manner
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders including consignees, drivers and customer representatives
  • Participate in conflict resolution and problem solving when required in a timely manner (e.g.  property/product damages, disruptions to transport, concern from customers)
  • Conduct monthly toolbox meetings with the fleet and foster a safety-focused and customer service-based culture

  • Experience in dispatch and fleet allocation critical
  • Geographical and heavy vehicle knowledge essential
  • Competent in computer-based technology (Emails, Microsoft Word and Excel, logistical programs)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service focused with experience in liaising with stakeholders and managing customer expectations
  • Skills in time-management and be self-motivated
