The Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) is the Australian Rail Industry's Standards Development Organisation. RISSB is responsible for the development, amendment, management and ownership of the Australian Code of Practice as it relates to the Rail Industry, which incorporates codes, standards rules and guidelines. RISSB is also responsible for other documents, systems and processes necessary and desirable to promote railway industry standardisation, efficiency and safety in Australia. Following the successful launch of the Australian Rail Risk Model in late 2017, RISSB continues to work on products and services that will drive safety and harmonisation throughout rail across the nation.
RISSB is seeking the services of a Standard Development Manager for its Train Control and Operations portfolio.
The Standard Development Manager is responsible for the leadership, facilitation and development of RISSB products developed under its Standards Development Organisation processes. This production program includes the development and maintenance of RISSB's Standards, Codes of Practice and Guidelines (ACOP) and other products as required.
Key responsibilities include;

Drive the development, amendment and management of the Australian Code of Practice (ACOP) as it relates to the Rail Industry, as well as other documents, systems and processes in order to promote railway industry standardisation, efficiency and safety in Australia.

Actively manage the Development Groups assigned to each product and provide day to day direction on issues as they arise.

Manage relations with key stakeholders to ensure continued engagement

Develop products under the direction of the Development groups and the Executive Team
To be successful in this role you must have the following experience and skills;
- At least 5 years experience in the rail industry
- Appropriate qualifications applicable to the rail industry
- Strong technical writing expertise
- Project, contract and people management skills and experience
The location for this role will be in either RISSB's Brisbane or Melbourne Office.
