The business has experienced geometric growth and this success has laid the foundation for the future and subsequent expansion. As such the business is now hiring a Sourcing Specialist.

You will be responsible for the development of a program and approach that will focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development.

Core components of this will be:

Supply Base consolidation, dual sourcing and alternative supply.

An approach that adopts lean supply chain and lean procurement.

Through the collection of data and analytics drive a cost down approach across the supply chain.

From an operational and delivery perspective, the Sourcing Specialist will:

• To develop and implement improved purchasing and controls

• To manage the supply chain from point of supply, through internal use, to end customer

• To develop a programme to improve supplier performance.

• To achieve stable supply whilst introducing cost down initiatives

• Create cost transparency for purchased parts

• Engage and develop relationships with internal stakeholders (technical, Production, CI) to ensure the drive to robust & sustainable outcomes.

• Optimise costs by choosing the best technology.

• Lead cost improvement projects and benchmarking of production processes.

• Participation in make-or-buy projects.

• Strategic development around dual sourcing and alternative supply.

• Further development of suppliers to consolidate a reliable and cost-efficient supply base.

• Lean procurement, DFSC (design for Supply Chain) and CI initiatives.

• Data and analytical approach with strong EXCEL and MRP/ERP tools experience.

• Supply chain validation, risk assessments around supply/critical parts/long lead times etc.

To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in supply chain development and sourcing. You will have experience across the following:

• Degree Business Commerce, Supply Chain/Procurement focused. CIPS Membership would be of interest.

• Proven experience and outcomes across supplier development – risk, analysis and the capability to deliver supply consolidation, dual and alternative sourcing strategies.

• Strong project management skills and proven examples of cost improvement/cost down exercises across all areas of supply chain.

• Excellent communicator both internally and with suppliers at all levels.

• Experience within a Lean/CI procurement environment, adoption and use of a DFSC approach.

• Strong EXCEL user, ability to automate the analysis of data, experience of MRP/ERP platforms.

• Willingness and ability to travel to suppliers across S.East Asia and Europe, global sourcing experience

• Experience from a Hi-tech manufacturing background – automotive, electronics etc.

• Experience and awareness of the criticality of UL/CE compliance when alternative sourcing, supplier compliance.

• Experience of working within an ISO9001 accredited environment, ensuring suppliers/supply chain meeting criteria of ISO9001 certification.
