The role
We have a great opportunity in our Operations team for an eager and motivated individual who is interested to work on our iconic Sydney Ferries that travel across Sydney Harbour as an Inner Harbour Engineer at Harbour City Ferries. As Inner Harbour Engineer, you will be required to ensure that our vessels are maintained to a required statutory level of operating and safety requirements. This will involve completing all the required checks before the vessel begins operating on its routes and responding to any initial faults.
Please note this is a rostered role so you must be prepared to work shift work, weekends and public holidays.
What you bring
To be considered for this role you must possess the following:
- A minimum of Certificate of Competency in Marine Engineering Driver Grade II as issued by AMSA
- Possess a current Provide First Aid Certificate including:
- HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID002 – Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID003 – Provide first aid
- Demonstrated ability to swim 50 metres (as issued by your local swimming pool)
- Good time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure
- Commitment to provide high quality customer service
- Demonstrated experience in using online work request systems and possess basic computer skills
