Our National client is boosting the Melbourne team at the domestic terminal and need fit, strong and reliable staff to help the team meet on time performance with a busy flight schedule.
As a baggage handler you will play in important role in ensuring that correct bags are loaded on designated flights.
Attention to detail, reliability, a willing attitude and team based focus are key for this role.
If you have always wanted to work at the airport and are up for a challenge then this is a great opportunity.
For successful applicants a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test will be required with a cost to you of approximately $400.
Steel capped boots and the ability to pass a police check is required.
You will be required to be available for ALL shifts occurring across all hours of airport operations, including weekends and public holidays and be available to pick up shifts with one hour notice.
A base casual pay rate of $25.68 per hour applies with additional penalties for shift work, up to $46.00 per hour! There are no guaranteed minimum hours each week. On offer is the opportunity to work for a leading airline, with supportive onsite management and the ability to apply for permanency for the same role internally.
If you are succesful in progressing to the next stage, you must be available to attend an information session and be willing and able to pay for your medical and DAMP test.
