Company:
MY client is a fourth generation family company with offices in Sydney and in Melbourne. They are renowned for looking after their team. They manufacture and engineer a range of Gas and Electric Fired Steam boilers that are distributed throughout Australia and overseas.
The role:
Due to the retirement of our existing foreman, we require an energetic and reliable factory foreman in our production and warehouse area.
Prior experience building &/or servicing steam and hot water boilers would be an advantage.
This is a hands-on position, and you will be required to manage a small team of people and coordinate their activities to suit production requirements.
The following capabilities are essential:
- Knowledge and hands on experience in electrical wiring
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings & electrical wiring diagrams
- Mechanical aptitude in pipework and assembly of hydraulic components
- Hands on experience & confident use of common industrial tools & machinery such as cutting, jigging, threading, welding, brazing, drilling & tapping would be an advantage
- Experience with Quality Control and OH&S procedures
- Ability to work autonomously, and in a team environment
- Ability to supervise production, and to lead team members in performing the necessary tasks to keep up with production schedules
- Prior experience in organising & managing warehouse inventory and stock control
