Licensed Asbestos Assessor – Brisbane

 

Prensa is a risk management consultancy which services clients throughout Australia. The business has over 220 consultants working out of offices in most Australian states and provides a range of risk management services including health and safety, environment, occupational hygiene, hazardous materials and emergency management.

As a result of a significant increase in workload following appointment to a large panel arrangement, we are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic Licensed Asbestos Assessor’s to work closely with our clients to provide pragmatic solutions to asbestos and hazardous building materials issues.

The role will comprise a significant amount of field work involving building and site inspections, abatement hygiene services and general hazmat advice. Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Asbestos and hazardous materials surveys;
  • Friable asbestos hygiene services;
  • Non friable asbestos hygiene services;
  • Asbestos Fibre Air Monitoring;
  • Supervision and management of licensed asbestos contractors during abatement works; and
  • Writing of technical survey and clearance reports;

The successful candidates will also be provided with comprehensive training in technical HSE risk issues and be expected to quickly learn, understand and apply technical concepts related to legislation, Australian Standards and other reference materials. Exposure to other areas of occupational health and safety including mould and air quality will be provided. Candidates keen to develop a combination of consulting, client relationship and technical skills will be well suited to the role. 

 

To succeed in this role, candidates will be required to hold a current asbestos assessors license and demonstrate 2-5 years experience working within the asbestos and hazardous building materials industry. In addition strong interpersonal and communication skills, confidence in a client facing environment and excellent report writing abilities will be required.

A degree in engineering, science and/or health and safety is not essential but will be well regarded.

A current driver’s licence, private vehicle, the capacity to travel within Australia and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are also requirements for this role.
