The Role:

We are looking for a Risk Policy Analyst to join our team to enhance, monitor and maintain the Credit Risk Policy framework for business lending through understanding and assessing business requirements, performance and activities in a dynamic industry, economic and regulatory environment.

Key Accountabilities:

You will play an active role in driving cultural change and increased awareness of risk management through partnering with management and contributing to effective risk management through:

• Support the management of the business lending Credit Risk Policies (and associated frameworks and documents) to ensure they are aligned with risk appetite, supportive of sustainable business growth and meet regulatory requirements.
• Provide input into the management of the business lending authority framework.
• Influence improvements in the management of the business lending portfolio and product activities though enhanced training and communication.
• Review and challenge the various business lending procedures, guidance information and practices to ensure they are appropriate and consistent with the credit policy and risk appetite.
• Assess and report on policies impacting the business lending portfolios, and identify opportunities for enhancement.
• Provide advice across the Bank in relation to business lending portfolio and product initiatives and associated risks.
• Assist with the capability development of others through effective coaching, mentoring, professional the building of a culture/philosophy of learning and collaboration across all teams.
• Drive accountability and a strong performance and risk management culture.

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience in either a business credit policy area or business lending role. Additional knowledge and experience of Agribusiness lending or Property Finance would also be highly considered.
• Strong credit skills with detailed understanding of commercial lending parameters including an ability to assess fundamental inherent risks in a wide range of relevant industries. 
• An understanding of Prudential Standards that apply to the management of credit risk within a bank is also desired.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
• Good risk expertise coupled with energy and passion for the risk profession.
