Strategy Manager

This large financial services provider is in the process of setting up a new strategy team. This is an exciting period of change and growth for the firm and represents a great opportunity to join the team to be part of the build.

In this role the Strategy Manager will provide analysis and recommendations to develop and update the corporate strategy as well as leading critical strategy projects to enable the success of the firms business units and product groups.

• Synthesising external trends, research, and internal or external data to identify strategic implications and make recommendations with supporting strategic rationale
• Developing key inputs into BU strategies including market segmentation, competition, regulatory change, product and service proposition including M&A and growth strategies
• Leading one direct report and strategy project teams; coaching and developing Strategy Analyst
• Supporting the annual business planning process in collaboration with Finance, culminating in development and finalisation of the annual Business
• Supporting the development and facilitation board strategy days
• Preparation of reports for the Executive, Board Committees and the Board

As the ideal candidate for this role you possess the following attributes
• 5 years’ experience in strategy formulation, strategic planning or M&A with a top tier consulting firm or corporate strategy team within a large corporate
• Outstanding skills in strategic thinking and commercial acumen with demonstrated experience in analysing strategic problems, applying strategic frameworks and developing data driven recommendations with supporting rationale
• Demonstrated excellence in communicating findings and recommendations (written and verbal)
• Strong influencing skills with a proven ability to build trusting relationships
• A demonstrated passion for business strategy and data driven insights
• Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline are a pre-requisite, with relevant post graduate qualifications (eg MBA) highly regarded
