Corporate Risk Advisor - Sydney, NSW (Permanent)
Our client is seeking a Corporate Risk Advisor to lead and own project risk management approach across the enterprise and is charged with assisting line/project managers in delivering successful projects based on sound risk management practice.
Responsibilities:
Act as a subject matter expert and adviser.
Develop the organisation’s project risk management processes.
Drive the right sized approach to project risk management practice.
Develop the organisation’s risk management processes, specific to the projects, including development of tools and procedures enabling best practice and pragmatic risk management appropriate to differing projects scale and overall risk.
Act as a subject matter expert and adviser for the company in the project risk management area, building increased capability across the business and assisting/advising project managers throughout the project lifecycles.
Feed into and support the company’s opportunity development framework which governs the project management process and provides a gated process for decisions.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Qualifications in project and/or risk management that can be leveraged for the role and justify subject matter expertise.
Authentic leadership quality essential. A passion for people with the ability to develop and maintain constructive working relationships and move freely between different operating disciplines to achieve the objectives is essential.
Well balanced approach to managing project risk management as a business enabler.
Knowledge of technology, good communication, organisational and time management skills - able to identify and solve problems, influence stakeholders and escalate as and when required.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management/lead advisory role with relevant background in managing diverse groups.
Generalist experience across elements of project or risk management, preferably within the oil and gas or mining industry.
Passion for influencing, coaching and mentoring stakeholders.
Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and priorities.
