Purpose of the role

As the Farming Planner for our Victorian region you will liaise with our farmers and plant managers to ensure our flow of birds meets our customer’s needs. You will also work with our growers by collecting data on their performance, monitoring contractual delivery and calculating payments. As Farming Planner you will have autonomy and accountability and will be part of delivering a sustainable and ethical produce to the heart of Australian tables.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure all livestock planning complies with minimum standards and meets RSPCA and FREPA requirements.
  • Drive improvement in variance between plan and actual in bird numbers and weights
  • Ensure the accuracy of broiler weight and count predictions
  • Liaise with plant planners and pickup contractors to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Manage and maintain the daily and mid-term livestock plans and all the associated inputs (sett and placement plans and numbers, hatch days etc.) to deliver an optimized plan at all times
  • Partner with the national planning team to ensure farming integrate a smooth planning process across the business
  • Active region representative in the Ingham’s Sales and Operations Planning process (S&OP)
  • Understand plant requirements to ensure they are communicated to the farming team
  • Leads projects with minimal assistance, nominates for additional projects and completes projects within the framework, time and budget.
  • Analyzing our growers contracts, detailing payments and penalties in an accurate and succinct format

Skills required

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with proven ability to write effective reports
  • Strong communication including experience in negotiating, networking and presentation
  • An interest in legal matters
  • Ability to demonstrate a creative and innovative approach with an aptitude for problem solving
  • Good commercial awareness and the ability to demonstrate experience in influencing multiple conflicting stakeholders
  • Intermediate/Advanced spreadsheet skills
  • Experience working for a large FMCG business would be advantageous

Qualifications/Licences

  • CPP Certified practicing planner or
  • Relevant degree business management qualification
