Your role

At MinterEllison, we are continuously looking at ways that we can improve our efficiencies and work flow practices.  As such, our Infrastructure, Construction & Property team are recruiting three Legal Process Manager positions based in our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane offices. These highly strategic roles will play a key part in transforming the client experience through driving improvements in efficiency and legal processes. More specifically, the Legal Process Managers will be involved in the design and implementation of best practice solutions across the high volume practice and coach our legal teams on process improvement and project management.

The main accountabilities of this role include:

  • Hands on project management on high volume legal matters
  • Analysing and mapping how the work is currently performed and developing recommendations to improve efficiency and increase consistency
  • Working with our business operations and legal service delivery teams to implement workflows and potentially technology solutions to support the recommendations for process improvements
  • Develop clear legal service requirements that meet our clients' expectations and ensure compliance with these requirements via regular audits
  • Facilitating training sessions for our teams on the various technology platforms and what is required to deliver high volume work
  • Supporting long-term behavioural change in our teams through various training and educational activities to develop a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on consistency
  • Acting as subject matter expert on a range of topics, including process improvement and the solutions we use to deliver the volume practice

What you need

This role will be best suited to a qualified senior property lawyer with a deep understanding of property law and legal processes within private practice (particularly high volume property practices).

In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Relevant legal project or process management experience desired
  • Need to be solutions focused, enthusiastic, have the ability to drive initiatives and take ownership of projects
  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement in the delivery of legal services
  • IT competency and the ability to quickly learn and adopt new systems and software
  • Capacity to manage varying levels of tasks - from thinking strategically to troubleshooting detail where needed
  • Strong stakeholder influencing and relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively whilst maintaining focus on internal efficiency
