A new opportunity for a Corporate Responsibility (CR) Specialist has become available working in the Corporate Responsibility team within the Buying department of ALDI Stores.

 

The CR Specialist role liaises with various stakeholders, both internal and external. The role comes with responsibility and autonomy for the topics surrounding the resources used to produce our products. Working on complex situations across differing markets around the globe means that research and analysis form the basis for success. Tackling challenging supply chain hurdles with the goal of increasing ALDI’s sustainable practices means that the personal satisfaction for a job well done is powerful.

 

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will have strong experience in the supply chain topics of animal welfare and other resources, such as palm oil, coffee, cocoa and tea, amongst others. They will have the ability to provide consultative expertise, as well as strong research and analytical skills with the ability to confidently communicate technical information to all levels.

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary degree, or equivalent, is highly regarded
  • Experience in working on the complex supply chain resource topics
  • Experience in supply chain traceability
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to apply sustainability principles and concepts in a business environment
  • Ability to conduct research on emerging resource trends, and the risks and opportunities they create for the business
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Advanced Excel skills and be IT literate
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to learn new programs and processes
  • High level of professionalism and dedication
  • Ability to take on responsibility and work autonomously

Role Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present reports, presentations and CR materials
  • Support, co-ordinate and direct external consultants
  • Provide consultative expertise in order to assist with implementation of policies and processes
  • Provide consultative expertise in order to assist in the development and maintenance of efficient CR systems and documentation
  • Actively manage their area of responsibility in order to develop and maintain CR projects
  • Accurate maintenance of relevant sections of the ALDI website
  • Provide consultative expertise to develop relevant CR policies and guidelines
  • Provide consultative expertise in order to participate in business discussions of the resource topics within the global business, as well as form relationships and share learnings
  • Assist in responding to customer enquiries about CR topics
  • Provide consultative expertise to internal stakeholders, product and service suppliers, and technical service providers
  • Perform risk assessments on relevant sustainability issues
  • Keep the company informed of changing competitor, government and industry activities or opportunities
  • Assist in developing training programs; and conduct training and mentoring of new staff
  • Support other CR team members where necessary
  • Completion of tasks on time and within budget

 

This role reports to the Corporate Responsibility Manager.
