About this role
The Medical Council exists to maintain high standards of medical practice in NSW. It protects  the health and safety of the public by responding to notifications and complaints about NSW medical practitioners from members of the public, other regulators and members of other health professions. The Council functions under the NSW provisions of the Health Practitioner National Law and works in close collaboration with co-regulators, the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority(AHPRA).
 
This role is responsible for giving effect to the Council's focus on continuous improvement and high quality decision making through the design, implementation and evaluation of operational and research projects and activities with an overall quality theme. In consultation with your collaborators, you will lead a small team with diverse professional backgrounds to drive business improvement, research and quality projects within the Medical Council.  
 
About you
The successful candidate could come from a range of professional backgrounds. We seek someone with an innovative approach and strong project and change management qualifications and experience. Prior experience in the health sector is an advantage but not essential.
 
Where you'll be working
The Medical Council is situated in the beautiful Gladesville Hospital grounds, with parking and easy access to public transport.
 
What you'll be doing
As a key member of the leadership team, you will lead the development of evidence based decision making to support the work of the Council and its Committees.  You will drive sound planning and operational efficiency through meaningful business and process improvement projects, and you will translate data and research  into the development and evaluation of new and existing business practices.
