Within NSW DPI, DPI Agriculture leads agricultural industry development through, science and research, industry policy and regulatory compliance functions to foster sustainable and economic agricultural industries.

 

About the role

DPI Agriculture is seeking to appoint a Manager, Grains Agronomy & Pathology Partnership (GAPP).  This role coordinates and provides project management support to the operational and administrative aspects of the GAPP which is a strategic Bilateral partnership between the NSW government and the Grains Research and Development Corporation. The Bilateral is a large and complex research and development portfolio.

The role coordinates and manages the GAPP R&D programs which include Winter Crop Pathology R&D, Winter Crop Agronomy R&D and an Infrastructure, Capacity Building and Skills Development Fund to increase the capacity for grains R&D in NSW. The role will also contribute to the overall strategic direction of the GAPP.

 

What you will be doing in the role

  • Coordinate and provide high-level project management support to facilitate the operation and administration of the GAPP programs
  • Manage the financial administration of the GAPP programs
  • Manage the reporting of all aspects of the GAPP Programs including Milestone Reports and develop, deliver and report on the KPIs for the Bilateral Agreement as determined by NSW DPI and GRDC 
  • Develop, manage and implement the Strategic Business Plan and Annual Operating Plans of the Bilateral Agreement
  • Provide professional and secretariat support to the Management Committee (MC) and Technical Committee (TC) established under the Bilateral Agreement and attend meetings of these committees as required.

 

What you will bring to the role

  • Degree qualification in Agriculture or related field, or extensive relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the NSW grains industry 
  • Significant experience in the planning, management and reporting of agricultural R&D programs
  • Demonstrated leadership and management of integrated research programs
  • An excellent record of administering research funds, including nationally competitive research grants, industry funding and/or research fellowships
  • Valid driver’s licence.
