Yass Valley is situated within the Southern Tablelands region of NSW, at the intersection of the Hume and Barton highways. It is a celebrated food and wine destination, with rich heritage and cultural attractions, dramatic rolling hills and waterways - all on the doorstep of Canberra. Council services a population of 17,000, and is continuously seeking to diversify its economy and make the most of opportunities for growth.
Council is seeking an experienced and appropriately qualified senior executive to lead the organisation and work closely and cooperatively with the Mayor and Council to plan, deliver and review a broad range of services to the Yass Valley community.
The General Manager encourages, inspires and leads strategic thinking, innovation and creativity in the organisation to address diverse and complex issues. The General Manager plays a major role in policy development and advice, meeting procedure, and representing the public image of the Council.
The role requires an individual that will promote a strong organisational culture which embraces high quality customer service to deliver effective outcomes.
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and a minimum of five years’ experience in a senior executive role are essential.
