About the opportunity 

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for undertaking business analysis activities for “In Scope” programs that will support the achievement of sustainable organisational process and technological change.

The Senior Business Analyst will work with multiple clients at the same time for a short and medium term duration and develop long term stakeholder relationships. The role should have strong consulting experience and expertise in continuous improvement.

The role should influence senior-level thinking and stakeholders at all levels and move clients to action. The Senior Business Analyst will report to the Lead Business Analyst within the program.

  • develops alternate solutions, evaluates technology options, facilitates the selection of a solution, and ensures the usability of the solution
  • draws upon effective practices identifies, analyses and documents agreed business requirements associated with the specification of new solutions or enhanced functionality that supports business process improvement
  • builds process maps of ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ processes using BPMN notation and existing templates within the University’s framework
  • conducts data mapping and analysis, and recommendations for maintaining and / or improving data quality
  • works closely with clients and the business to identify and analyse core business processes and workflows
  • assists the team in defining, developing and implementing quality assurance practices and procedures related to requirements elicitation, business process mapping and associated project deliverables
  • reviews and updates existing user process/procedure/policy documentation; or creates new documentation if required, to be provided to end-users for implementation.
 

About us

The Office of the Vice-Principal (Strategy) is responsible for driving the strategic agenda across the University, including providing analysis, insight, and high-level advice to the Vice-Chancellor and Principal and the SEG on key strategic issues and opportunities.

The Office instigates and facilitates strategic dialogue across the University to inform the development of strategy and planning, and to drive collaboration, partnerships and opportunities for the University.

The Office leads the design and development of the University’s strategic planning process and the related performance monitoring and implementation. The Portfolio incorporates the Strategy Office and the Program Management Office (PMO).

The Program Management Office (PMO) has been created to work within a strategic context and alongside business (Portfolios, Faculties and Schools and Professional Service Units) in building & deploying effective program management capability. 

The PMO develops and delivers a range of services within the key focus areas of tracking and reporting, capability development and project and organisational change management. The PMO also maintains a pool of resources in each capability area for deployment in partnership with the project owners to deliver quality management.
