Company Profile:
This iconic, consumer driven brand name organisation is currently looking to recruit a leader for their newly formed strategy team. The GM will lead the strategy function on a ongoing basis and will play a key role in writing the long term strategy for the group and delivering on expected growth objectives for the business through the identification, assessment and pursuit of potential M&A options to enhance the business offering to ultimately increase revenue potential.
Role and Responsibilities:
Initial responsibility will be to drive the development of the initial corporate narrative (which will ultimately form part of an integrated strategic and financial plan) and then on an annual basis to facilitate engagement with the leadership team and Board on strategic direction. You will then be tasked with facilitating successful inorganic growth outcomes, with a focus on M&A, Strategic Investment and Innovation, that are practical and compliment the organisations corporate strategy. Key to your success will be your ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders across the business and with external stakeholders. You will be expected to build a small team of top tier strategy experts to compliment your skill set.
Key Requirements
- The ideal candidate will come from a Tier 1 Consulting background such as McKinsey, Bain or BCG and will have had exposure to due diligence projects.
- Experience in consumer driven sector is essential.
- Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills are a must
- Experience of people leadership and mentoring
- Candidates straight from Consulting and those who have gained a tier 1 consulting tool kit and then run a corporate strategy team will be considered.
