Senior Ecologist (Mid-Senior Level)

Brisbane

ROLE PROFILE:

• The role to be provided is to support the successful delivery of ERM projects, with a focus on biodiversity as well as other approvals projects where required. 
• Delivering discrete projects and or whole tasks/elements of larger projects as a PM under supervision of line manager
• Preparing reports or technical notes as required
• Undertake fieldwork as required (this may include interstate travel) involving the collection and collation of field data (flora and fauna);
• Following ERM processes relating to project management, quality assurance, authorisation, health and safety and other policies
• Providing completed tasks and inputs into elements of projects and or proposals
• Building effective working relationships within project team, discipline and business unit
• Meet business financial targets, overall project budget and schedule, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal and contract requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum Bachelor level university degree (ecology or relevant environmental science degree);
• Previous consulting experience;
• The candidate will have a high level of report writing skills and be an excellent communicator. Knowledge of environment legislation and policy, in particular VM Act, NC Act, EPBC Act.
• Fieldwork experience involving data collection (flora and fauna);
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for ecology based projects;
• Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges, and recognize corporate opportunities.
• Experience in project delivery and proven report writing skills;
• Exceptional relationship building skills;
• Willingness to work away from Brisbane, if necessary, for an extended period of time.
• Authorisation to work in Australia
