Council’s Leisure & Cultural Services Branch is seeking an enthusiastic person to fill the position of Economic Projects Officer. This exciting and dynamic role will provide support to Council’s key initiatives and economic projects, including the projects included in the Mildura Future Ready funding and advocacy strategy.
Position Objectives
The officer will be responsible for:
- Development and/or implementation of Council’s corporate or economic development projects, initiatives or programs.
- Assist in the identification and development of funding applications for Council’s projects, initiatives or programs, including development of relevant project documentation.
- Liaise with the necessary internal departments and external organisations to ensure a cohesive approach to projects, programs and initiatives with economic and tourism outcomes.
- Manage and administer the assigned projects allocated to the position.
- Provide advice to the Events and Projects Coordinator on projects, programs and initiatives as they arise.
- Identifying opportunities to attract economically focused projects to the region.
- Assist in delivering the annual Events Funding Program in accordance with relevant policies, including liaison with event organisers and evaluating events.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification such as Economics, Commerce, Business Management, or Project Management or extensive experience in a related discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management or in the development and implementation of projects with an economic or tourism outcome.
Salary and Conditions
The position is classified within Band 6 of the Victorian Local Authorities Award 2001 ranging from $78,893.88 to $85,995.00 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
