One of our clients based at Sydney Olympic Park, is looking for a Risk, Compliance and Corporate Governance Coordinator to join their busy team for 3 months.

The Risk, Compliance and Corporate Governance Coordinator supports and assists the Director with the development of SOPA’s governance and risk processes and procedures, including WHS. The position also coordinates responses to GIPA and Privacy applications and assists the Director with coordinating the insurance function.

The successful candidate will:

• Assist the Director Legal, Risk and Corporate Governance with the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures to provide SOPA with sound corporate governance and enterprise risk management structures necessary to meet statutory requirements and compliance with government policy.

• Collate information and assist with drafting the Director’s corporate governance, risk management and WHS report to the Executive and Board.

• Coordinate the corporate office WHS Committee and support other committees as required. Report any significant WHS issues to the Director.

• Maintain a robust and best practice enterprise wide risk management register in accordance with risk management principles and standards.

• Coordinate the annual policy review of corporate governance polices and subsidiary policies to meet statutory requirements and ensure strong and transparent management accountability.

• Assist the Director in the development and implementation of systems to track information received by critical stakeholders including the Audit Office, ICAC and Ombudsman. Monitor progress and outcomes on information and recommendations provided by these sources.

• Coordinate responses to GIPA and Privacy issues.

• Liaise with Treasury Managed Fund in relation to SOPA insurance matters.

Essential criteria:

• Experience in implementing and monitoring corporate governance and risk management processes and controls.

• Understanding of corporate governance, risk management, WHS.

• Capacity to develop policy in relation to corporate governance and risk.

• High level communication skills both written and verbal.

• Ability to gather information and coordinate responses to GIPA and Privacy requests.

• Sound computer skills and experience with contemporary computer applications and a commitment to continuous improvement. Experience with TRIM would be looked upon favourably.
