Senior Estimator - Contract Mining
Ausdrill Limited Companies provide contract surface mining and mineral exploration drilling to the mining sector in Australia and Africa. As a result of increasing projects and planned growth, a position of Senior Estimator – Contract Mining has been created.
Reporting directly to the Group Manager – Technical Services and based in Perth, this is a role critical to growing and maintaining market penetration with main responsibilities to include:
- Preparation and submission of tenders, budget prices, variations and expressions of interest
- Liaising with Company management and Clients on all pricing issues
- Estimating productivity, equipment and manpower requirements
- Estimating capital and operating costs from first principles
- Define methodologies
- Pre-tender contract reviews
- Attending site visits as required
- Preparation and maintenance of tender documents including contract language
- Performance analysis for tasks within the mining cycle
Ideally, the successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in the mining industry
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience directly related to contract estimating or project budgeting and costing,
- Skilled in professional engineering principles and methods
- A degree or technical diploma in mining or civil engineering, or significant experience in relevant mining or engineering roles.
- Computer skills including MS Office, Surpac,Talpac, FPC
- Exceptional planning and communications skills
- The ability to undertake domestic and international travel, often as short notice
