The Role:
The Subsea Construction Engineer supports the Gas Export Pipeline Package Lead with the tender development, evaluation and negotiations, and the management of the pipeline tie-in design interface, as well as interfacing with the FPSO and the tie-in teams.
Once in Execution, the role shall transition into supporting the Gas Export Pipeline Installataion Enginer for day to day management of the GEP T & I contractor to achieve successful completion of the GEP installation.

Key Accountabilities
• Ensure construction specifications and datasheets are code compliant and suitable for purpose
• Ensure all gas export pipeline delivery requirements are adequately specified within the installation contract
• Support the Gas Export Pipeline Installation Engineer in the delivery of the GEP installation scope including installation engineering, structure design/fabrication/testing, linepipe load out, pipehaul, pre-lay and post-lay span correction and pre-commissioning

Key Responsibilities
• Review the gas export pipeline system design related deliverables from the FEED contractor
• Support the FEED design team in the development of a gas export pipeline and tie-in design that facilitates optimised installation and pre-commissioning activities
• Support the Gas Export Pipeline Installation Engineer to ensure that the execution methodologies meet project technical, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements, seek out and apply best practices and lessons learned from other projects
• Support auditing and vessel assurance processes for all assets associated with the installation
• Operate offshore as a Client Representative/field engineer during the offshore installation phase.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Engineering or higher, from an accredited university.
• In depth knowledge (minimum of 15 years’ experience) in all aspects relating to Installation of rigid submarine pipelines in S-lay mode in accordance with DNVGL-ST-F101.
• Must have dynamic positioned pipelay experience.
• Applicant shall have knowledge of the full pipelay process from pipehaul, welding, NDT, coating and installation.
• Applicant shall be experienced in working in multi-disciplined offshore teams.
• Experience in supporting the management of pipeline installation contracts
• Experience with diverless connection systems
• Experience in the management of PLET design, fabrication and installation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contribute proactively in team environments.
• Analytical/technical aptitude with a practical approach to problem solving.
