Light Vehicle Fitter

We are Australia’s largest privately owned mining, construction and maintenance services company, working across the resources, energy and infrastructure sectors.
BGC Contracting has been awarded a $700M, 5 year contract to deliver mining and equipment maintenance services at Boggabri open-cut coal mine in NSW for our client Idemitsu. As a result, we are looking to support our project team and provide our next career opportunity for an experienced Light Vehicle Fitter.
This residential role, reporting to Maintenance Supervisor, the Light Vehicle Fitter will carry out maintenance repairs, servicing and rebuild tasks as directed.

5 DAYS ON/4 DAYS OFF – 4 NIGHTS ON/5 NIGHTS OFF
Working in this diverse environment, with a One Shirt One Team culture and a strong commitment to safety and the community, you will be responsible for:
- Inspection of light vehicles and support plant mechanical integrity in line with legislative and company requirements;
- Repairing or replacing worn or defective parts, and reassembling mechanical components such as brake parts, steering and suspension components and exhaust system pieces;
- Maintain light vehicles and support plant to company and OEM specifications to ensure reliable operation;
- Conducting workshop maintenance and maintaining high housekeeping standards in work areas;
- Diagnosing and repairing light vehicles and support plant in both a workshop and field environment.
What we’re looking for:
- Trade qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic
- 3 – 5 years of diagnosing and fault finding experience in the light vehicle/mining mechanical workshop
- Hold a valid Australian drivers licence
