Roy Hill’s independently owned and operated railway is a 344km standard gauge, single line, heavy haul railway built to transport 55Mtpa of iron ore from the Roy Hill Mine to the dedicated Port stockyard facility in Port Hedland. Utilising state-of-the-art train loading systems and the fastest rail car dumpers, the Rail division is a leading example of our innovation and technology investments.

We are currently looking to appoint an Analyst Rail Systems to respond to equipment issues, minimise downtime and maintain and improve Signals and Communications asset Reliability, Availability and Maintainability. You will also:

  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks as instructed by area Supervisors.
  • Monitor equipment failure rates and change failed components where possible at opportune times to limit the impact of the subsequence equipment downtime.
  • Estimate and organise time and materials required to complete planned work.
  • Ensure all faults are rectified in a safe & timely manner.
  • Seek opportunities to improve overall S&C Systems performance.

‘The Real You’

As the ideal candidate, you will have substantial experience working in a similar role within the Signalling and Rail Communications environment along with proven experience working on Signalling and Communications systems. You will also have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably in - Electrical, Communications, Signalling or Systems Engineering) or similar technical field with post graduate qualifications in Systems Engineering, or an electrical trade qualification with a demonstrated combination of tertiary training and experience within Signalling and Rail Communications environment.
  • Class C Restricted Electrical licence or attainable within 6 months.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance execution, Reliability Centred Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Understanding of the requirements of the Rail Safety Act, Regulations and AS/NSZ 4292.
  • Awareness and understanding of environmental policies associated with Signalling and Rail Communications systems.
