The client
Our client is a medium sized, ASX listed gold mining company with various projects at differing stages. Due to continued, exciting growth, they are currently looking to employ a suitably experienced Health and Safety individual to be responsible for Health and Safety management across the company as a whole.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and based at the corporate head office, the Health and Safety Manager will work closely with site based Health and Safety personnel to manage the ongoing development, implementation and continual improvement of health and safety management systems, risk management systems and crisis and emergency management systems. You will have responsibility for the Health and Safety business plan including goal setting and performance metrics, in addition to managing occupational health matters, workers compensation and injury management across the organisation.
Requirements
To be considered for this position you will hold a as a minimum a Graduate Diploma and preferably a tertiary degree qualification in Health and Safety. You will have worked in gold or nickel and have experience in both underground and open pit environments, and will have considerable experience of working in health and safety management within the mining industry including in a senior leadership role. Your strong communication, leadership and motivating skills, paired with your excellent work ethic and respect for safety procedures and regulations will stand you in good stead for this essential position.
