About the role

We are looking for a Manager Employee Remuneration & Performance APAC based in Perth to support the implementation and execution of Rio Tinto Remuneration & Performance policies and programs across the Asia Pacific region.

The strategies and systems adopted in Rio Tinto to remunerate employees at all levels is critical in being able to attract, retain and mobilise high calibre individuals. The Manager Employee Remuneration & Performance APAC will be leading the Employee Performance & Reward team, reporting to the Senior Manager People Services APAC West and will be responsible for:

  • Leading a small team of specialists to support the roll-out of remuneration & performance programs 

  • Acting as a day-to-day project lead, ensuring the annual cycle of activities progresses against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards across the APAC region

  • Partnering with the appropriate Human Resource area to deliver strategically-aligned reward solutions and systems to the business

  • Ensuring policies, practices and programmes support the business while aligning with Rio Tinto global and regional practices and processes

  • Partnering with the appropriate Human Resource area to deliver strategically-aligned reward solutions and systems to the business

  • Identifying reward issues and appropriate interventions

  • Providing advice on the application of Rio Tinto reward policy and processes to the business.

  • Supporting the implementation and ongoing operation of a suite of quality, innovative and uniform reward solutions

  • Monitoring and advises on the competitiveness and relevance of reward related policies and employment conditions

  • Leading market research, financial analysis and make recommendations 

  • Implementing training and communication programs across the Atlantic for managers and other employees

  • Leading all internal activities in relation to compliance with applicable remuneration & performance related legislations in the APAC region

  • Liaising and partner with other regional remuneration & performance teams to ensure best practices and cross-collaboration

  • Establishing and maintain key network of contacts to facilitate the exchange of remuneration & performance information

 

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A Tertiary qualification in HR, IR or a business related discipline

  • Technical expertise in remuneration, performance and/or a similar discipline

  • Strong experience in project management

  • Demonstrated ability to partner and interface directly with senior stakeholders, clients, business leaders on remuneration matters within large global organisation

  • In depth knowledge of local market, in particular APAC region

  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel

  • HRIS experience, including experience with web-enabled remuneration management tools and/or platforms

  • Highly motivated with strong communication and influencing skills
