The Role
Wholly owned and operated by Mineral Resources Limited, and located in the Pilbara Region of WA, our Wodgina lithium site is seeking an experienced Pit Technician to join the team on a 2:1 roster.
Reporting to the Senior Mining Geologist, your primary responsibility will be to support the Mine Geologists to ensure grade control functions are carried out to a high standard in a safe and timely manner, and providing backup where required.
As such, you will have extensive experience working in an open pit environment, and be comfortable working in a close-knit team who pitch in and roll their sleeves up to get the job done!
Your Responsibilities
- Collecting grade control samples and sample dispatch
- Monitoring drilling activities
- Ore mark-ups and spotting
- Logging blast holes
- ROM inspections
- Database management
- Liaise with production personnel to ensure optimal ore mining techniques are utilised
- Maintain and foster a working environment which prompts safety in all that we do, whilst also providing outstanding service
Your Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a Pit Technician role
- Proven experience working in an open pit mining environment (minimum 12 months experience)
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Experience with Surpac, Acquire desirable
- A Mine Geology background would be highly regarded
