 Role:

Due to project expansion, this newly created role will form a key part of production success. Reporting to the Underground Mine Manager, the Senior Mine Planning Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of detailed mine designs and schedules required to meet short, medium and life-of-mine mine plans, as well as day to day management of a Planning Engineer.
  

• Preparation of Life of Mine Designs and Schedules through to Short Term Designs and 13 week schedules;
• Prepare detailed underground development & stope designs to support the mine schedule;
• Prepare detailed infrastructure plans to support the underground operation;
• Preparation of detailed weekly and monthly schedules;
• Complete financial evaluations and optimisations on the mine plan to ensure the most economical mine plan is implemented based on available inputs,
• Lead the preparation of mine Budget forecasts and reports;
• Direct and lead members of the operational and technical mining teams, including the mining contractor;
• Assist with annual Mineral Reserves reporting;
• Complete Feasibility and Due-Diligence evaluations on prospective mining areas;
• Provide support to the Underground Mine Manager and operation as needed.

What's Required:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, BEng;
• 7+ years’ experience in a similar site based role, previous supervisory experience is preferred;
• Experience in all aspects of mine planning, including long term and feasibility;
• Proficiency in mining software packages with Deswik CAD/Scheduler and Surpac, however Mine 2-4D or 5DP and EPS is highly favourable;
• Strong working knowledge of mining functions applicable to narrow vein underground gold mining, including geotechnical, blasting considerations and productivity issues

 
Salary will be negotiable (within reason) & reflective of experience level.
