UGL are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Project teams in South Australia. This opportunity will be on a permanent basis.

 

As the Mechanical Project Engineer on the project, you will be responsible for providing engineering expertise in the design, fabrication, installation and assembly of the project.

 

The primary challenge of this position is to ensure the project or other assignment is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet contractual arrangements made with the client.

 

Reporting to the Project Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Working with the Site Superintendents in the development of the relevant workpacks and WMS
  • Review and plan the project with the Contract Manager to ensure technical aspects of job are clear and to become familiar with contractual arrangements made with client.
  • Liaise with Construction Superintendent to ensure job is on schedule on Site.
  • Liaise with Client on all technical aspects of the project.
  • Provides a focal point for all technical based queries for associated sub suppliers.
  • Provides engineering advice for sub suppliers.
  • Prepares with the Quality Manager all Inspection and Test Plans and associated Project Specific Procedures.
  • Ensures that the quality requirements of the client are adhered to and that company procedures are followed.
  • Assist with the compilation of construction Work Packs and test packs in accordance with Project requirements (content, accuracy and timing).
  • Prepare requisitions for materials and services in accordance with Project requirements (content, accuracy and timing).
  • Provides written reports on engineering activities as required by the Construction Manager.
  • Assessment of risks and hazards involved in tasks, and methods to manage the hazards to prevent incidents, injury and damage.
  • Overviews the entire project (within disciplines) from an engineering view point while maintaining an open approach to all problems.

Skills and Experience:

  • Diploma/ Degree in Engineering
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, etc).
  • Having achieved a satisfactory level of technical skills/knowledge in job-related areas; keeping abreast of current developments and trends in area of expertise
  • Mining, oil and gas and or refinery experience / exposure
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project related disciplines.
  • Have extensive experience in project delivery related disciplines and working to Australian Standard

  • Can work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously within a fast-paced environment

  • Involvement in Mechanical and Civil Related projects

  • Brownfields Project experience would be highly desirable
