UGL are looking for experienced SMP Superintendents to join our Iron Ore Operations and Maintenance Project team in the Pilbara across a number of sites.  Due to a large structural integrity project, we’re able to offer these positions on a permanent full-time contract
 
The SMP Superintendent is responsible for the supervision of the day to day management of the UGL’s Iron Ore contracts including responsibility for HSE, Quality, productivity and planning and developing business strategy with a focus on continuous improvement.  The Superintendent is also responsible for the financial management of the project to ensure the completion of the work in safe and time manner. 
 
You will be responsible for:

  • Lead, Monitor and support a team of supervisors and trade persons 
  • Ensure the team is implementing innovative, best practice, effective work methods and processes to achieve superior productivity
  • Continue to develop and build a strong working relationship with our client and identify where UGLs services can be delivered effectively to the client 
  • Managing and reporting against KPIs
  • Assist with Profit and loss administration – cost control, job tracking, invoice management, cost reporting
  • Apply your knowledge of Safe Working Practices to ensure compliance with all aspects of the safety and environment management plan.
  • Work collaboratively with numerous internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong relationships that contribute to the positive outcomes of the business.


As the ideal candidate you will possess: 

  • Substantial experience within a Maintenance / Shutdown environment within the mining industry 
  • A trade qualification
  • Sound Project Management Skills, including planning, delivery and reporting;
  • Strong technical trade knowledge and demonstrated ability to oversee complex and fluid project environments;
  • A strong commitment to the safety of all personnel and processes; and
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities through well-developed interpersonal skills and positive influencing abilities.
  • Have the ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously within a fast-paced environment
