About the Role

BHP is a leading global resources company. Our Minerals Australia business includes operations in Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia, focusing on iron ore, copper, metallurgical and energy coal and nickel.
 
We are seeking highly motivated Study Leads to join our Perth Iron Ore Asset Projects Studies Group which services the Port, Non Process Infrastructure and Power portfolios.  

This is an exciting opportunity for high performing professionals to work with a range of senior stakeholders and have a significant impact on the business. 

Reporting to the Study Manager, the Study Lead will be responsible for the study and development of assigned projects under the functional model through the Identification, Selection and Definition investment phases.  You will ensure that for each project, the best solution is selected and optimised for value and risk.


Other key accountabilities will include:
  • Ensure project risks are identified and managed appropriately and in accordance with the Asset Projects risk processes
  • Follow budgeting and reporting processes 

Working in a proactive business culture with a supportive management structure, and leveraging off your extensive experience, you will have the chance to promote business excellence through your team and you'll make full use of your broad range of skills in the areas of continuous improvement, technical knowledge, financial acumen and communication.  

About You

Experienced in working within dynamic organisations and environments, you will be an effective problem solver and compelling influencer, able to clearly communicate business benefits, mitigated risks and project dependencies.


You will be degree qualified in science, engineering, finance, business or similar, preferably combined with post-graduate studies in business, finance or project management. You will be experienced in project development. 


With divergent and convergent thinking skills along with a strong understanding of business value and value optimisation processes, you are adept at relationship management.

Location 


You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues. 

Occasional site travel to the Pilbara will be required for this role.
